On my mission to become the best in the industry I have invested more into my training. Aside from my initial Microblading and Ombre training I have taken an additional Microblading course, a Pigment Science Class and Botched Ink Saline Removal course.

Removal
Now don’t let the word removal scare you, this treatment lifts pigment from the deepest layers of the skin so is perfect for brows that have been touched up time and time again. Eventually, the brows become over saturated with pigment which means the skin will not take anymore. If your brows are over saturated and you go for a touch up they are likely to look great when you walk out of the door but you may find that once you have gone through the healing process the colour has gone and your brows look exactly the same. Waste of money right?
Botched Ink can remove enough pigment to either fade it enough for a colour correction or completely remove it. Take a look at my treatment list select Botched Ink for more details.
PS: Over saturated brows are not something that is usually covered in training so if this has happened to you it’s likely due to inexperience rather than your artist just wanting your money. If they offer removal then go back to them and talk it through, they will love the opportunity to work with you to get to your desired results.
Eyebrows / Microblading gone grey?
I’ve also recently completed a Pigment Science Class, it was intensive but very very informative and has left me feeling completely empowered. It’s only now I feel like I’m armed with all the information I need to be a great artist, don’t get me wrong, there are always things to learn and improve but I absolutely feel well educated now.
This course opened my eyes to a world of mis-sold pigments and marketing tact ticks which has many artists buying pigments that will always turn grey…. Even using colour correctors will lead to grey brows if the wrong pigment is used.
I have gotten rid of all my old pigments and put my trust in a new brand that promises to never turn grey or red. After taking the science pigment course I wholeheartedly believe in this brand and made the investment. I mean, you can’t argue with science!
Eyebrows / Microblading gone red?
Firstly… when it comes to pigments, the term ‘organic’ is the opposite to what know about food. When you think food, you think, natural, no pesticides… but for pigments it basically means made in a lab.
‘Inorganic’ pigments are the natural pigments “from the earth” was a phrase used in my Pigment Science class.
Back to them turning red, this is because an inorganic pigment has been used. SOME Inorganic pigments will eventually fade out to red, I won’t get into the science but it’s all to do with the molecule size of pigments. When you get your brows done it’s always a good idea to find out what type of pigments your artist uses. Some Inorganic pigments need to be touched up on a regular basis, before you get the red stage; this will keep them nice and brown (or your selected colour).
NB: My Inorganic pigments will not turn red because non of them contain a red pigment
Most Organic pigments or Hybrids (a mix of both) will eventually fade out to grey, there is nothing you can do about it. Just know that the grey colour will take a long time to fade out and if touched up time and time again or too closely together will lead to over saturated brows. How quickly they turn grey depends on a huge amount on what is in the pigment bottle and other external factors. Environment, skin care, sun exposure to name a few.
Brow Colour Correction
You can correct red and grey brows and get them back to a lovely brown shade. I would always recommend you have a consultation first so your artist can assess your brows first. If an artist recommends ‘removal’ (which a phrase I don’t like to use because it sounds like it’s going to very painful) then heed their advice. We are the experts and as the industry has grown and developed everyone is learning as we all gain more experience, share with each other and as I am, educate ourselves more and more.
Don’t forget, my pigments and colour correctors I use will not turn a funky colour, they will fade out but stay brown. They simply become lighter and lighter. However, if they are covering already existing grey or red, that will eventually show through because it takes so long to leave the skin. Unless of course you choose the Botched Ink treatments to really lighten them or totally remove them.
Laser or saline?
This decision is entirely up to you, I provide a saline option. If you are unsure just do your research into both. As I don’t provide laser I cannot comment on how long it will take, what the healing process is like or how quickly it will lighten or remove your pigment. Don’t forget to check out my Botched Ink page for more information on Saline Removal. I am more than happy to provide a consultation free of charge to discuss your options available from ViP Brow Co.
I truly hope this information has helped, I’m here for you! If you have any questions, please do reach out.
Much love as always, V xx
