Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it called permanent makeup if it isn't?
Some artists refer to it as semi-permanent but I feel this can be slightly mis-leading because the pigment can last in the skin from 6 months to years, some people simply hold pigment better than others. How we interpret the word semi-permanent is different for everyone.

Does Microblading hurt?
Whilst a topical anaesthetic is used you may feel some discomfort. The most common reaction is "Is that it?? I can feel it but it doesn't hurt". This is the same for all procedures.

Which is the best treatment for me?
The final look of your brows is essentially your decision but I am here to help you decide - feel free to contact me to arrange a free consultation if you are unsure which treatment is best for you

Skin Type Considerations
Microblading is more suited to normal - dry skin
Ombre is suitable for all skin types
Combination Brows are suitable for all skin types - you need to consider that there is a chance the hair strokes will fade faster than the ombre and may blur over time
Pixel Blading is suitable for all skin types - in particular more mature, sensitive or oily skins that still want that hair stroke look
Faux Freckles are suitable for all skin types but may fade faster on oily skin types.

How long does it last?
Microblading usually lasts between 1 - 2 years
Ombre Brows usually last between 1 – 3 years
Combination Brows usually last for 18months +
Hyperrealism Brows usually last for 18months +
Lip Blush usually around 2 - 3 years depending on the shade

Results and how long all they last depends on many factors. Some of these are aftercare, lifestyle, medication & skin care routine to name a few. Facials, glycerin acid, retinol and sun exposure are commonly known to fade PMU faster.
Your PMU need to be around 50% faded before a colour boost is carried out. This ensures we don't implant too much pigment into the skin causing oversaturation leading to the need for removal.

What to expect after Microblading
There is a period where you are required to follow very specific aftercare, failure to do so can lead to severe scabbing, loss of pigment and potentially infection. If the aftercare is followed correctly, around day 2/3 you can expect to see some light scabbing (usually flakes rather than scabs). These will heal off naturally but you must not pick them, even the slightest pick will pull the pigment out. Once they have healed off the colour usually disappears, this is completely normal. After a few weeks the colour starts to reappear. It's rare they heal perfectly after one appointment which is why a touch up is always included in the price, look at it as a perfecting session. Healing generally tends to be a bit quicker after touch up but the aftercare and commitment to looking after them is the same.
