Hey All!!
Just a quick hello to say I am still here! It's Sunday and I'm working.. shocker. It's hard graft running your own business, it's a good absolutely love it. During the day I get to meet and greet you lovely lot and by night and weekend I get the admin done.. the very boring part! I absolutely detest doing my accounts but I'm a sucker for a spreadsheet and I know every single that has come in and out of mu business since the day I started.
I digress.....I am super interested to know what your thoughts are around PMU.... read on :)
Do you have any lingering questions that you think might sound stupid.. let me tell you, you don't know what you don't know! There is no such thing as a stupid question. It's actually very complex when you get into the theory behind permanent makeup but you don't need to know that luckily because I know it all so ask away. I am here for you.
Even better, book a free, no obligation consultation and we can through all the questions you have, see what style brow would suit you, what shade lip blush would give you that va va woom or what style eyeliner will work you.
Have you had a past experience that has put you off for life? I hear a lot of women saying it was agony... it shouldn't be and won't be.
I have ladies coming to me how have had colour boost after colour boost after colour boost every single year... generally with pigments that take a long time to breakdown in the skin. Some of these ladies come to me to 'fix' their brows. Sometimes I just can't. Why???
The shape is wrong - I take a long time getting your pre-draw right, working with your face shape to ensure your brows suit you
Too much pigment, eventually the skin will simply say 'go away' to new pigment. Your brows might look ace when you leave but as they heal your skin/body rejects the new pigment and you are left with what you had before. What a waste of money right?? That's why I offer removal, I don't suggest it as a way of making money, I suggest it as a way of making more room for more pigment; or sometimes to completely start again. It depends on your requirements.
The colour, you can colour correct some colours but it depends on what is left in the skin. For example, you had microblading which has gone red and blurred into a full brow. Depending on the depth of colour left over will greatly impact whether you can have hair strokes again. Sometimes they just merge out into the old pigment. Or your old ombre brow has turned red, this can be corrected. Every case is different. I recommend you book a consultation first to see what your requirements are and what I think is doable.
Medication and medical conditions! I had a lady come to me recently and whilst going through her consultation we discovered she is not a candidate for PMU because of her medical conditions and the medication she was taking, Your artist should always ask for an update on health and medications you are taking. She had been having touch ups with another artist for years so was a little miffed I wouldn't do it. Sometimes... and only sometimes I will complete the treatment with sign off from a doctor. It has to be an official letter, but in this case even her Doctor said no. Wise move on my part don't you agree! You might want new brows but what if I caused something to happen that impacted your health. I simply won't risk it.
My Mum has Leukaemia but her consultant was fine for her to have PMU provided the place it was carried out and all equipment was sterile (which it is) so we went ahead. Even my Mum said 'it's me, I'm not going to take action against you am I' which of course she wouldn't but what if I made her Leukaemia worse or she didn't respond well and ended up with some sort of infection making everything worse. I have to live with that... She is ok by the way... it's getting managed with chemo tablets :)
I'm wondering what else you might think about... the cost is probably a biggie! It's an investment, but it's an investment in YOU. There is no greater investment that in yourself, not just on PMU or the clothes we wear but our education, self improvement, me time are huge for me. I am always learning. I've turned into super geek just lately, I've just bought a book called MBit Training which is all about using your brain, heart centre and gut centre to make decisions that are informed by all aspects of your body. We've all heard the saying 'my head says this but my heart wants that'... and 'what is your gut feeling'. It's really interesting.
I've watched some super interesting documentaries on Netflix, The Goop Lab. go watch it! It's a company that Gwyneth Paltrow owns. Also How To Change Your Mind. I haven't watched it all yet but it's fascinating! I'll leave it there.. I won't bore you with the information I fill my mind with hahaha
Back to cost!! Most of my treatments are £350.. don't say OUCH... It's worth it. It's worth the rise in your self esteem, it's worth the time saved in a morning faffing with your brows. It's worth having lip smacking lips every minuet of everyday. It's worth it if you want it! It's your body, it's your money and I'm sure you've worked damn hard for it. Spend it on whatever makes you happy.
The costs are split out into 3 payments:
£50 booking fee -
£200 a first appointment
£100 at the touch up which is 6 - 8 weeks later
All treatments require two visits because it is rare they heal perfectly the first time around. I cannot stress enough the importance of your aftercare, think about this way.. I do 40% of the work, the other 60% is you and how well you look after your treatment.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, ASK ME ANYTHING!!
And forgive any spelling mistakes - I wasn't actually planning on writing this blog tee hee :)
Much Love and can't wait meet you V xx
